Since engaging with over 3,500+ young people throughout 2024, Esports Youth Club has shown no signs of slowing down as we've had a packed beginning to the new year.
Over the last two weeks of February alone, including the half-term, we've hosted 14 free esports events within communities across London. So far this year, as we enter March, our total event tally is already up to 63.
All of our events are delivered by our experienced youth workers, who you will find out more about soon as we unveil a 'meet the EYC team' series over on our Instagram page. They provide a host of peer mentoring, safeguarding support and local signposting to enrich the lives of the young people we engage with.

We've continued to host our weekly sessions which you can find in the 'sessions' tab on our website. These include free weekly free-play sessions, tournaments and our prestigious Fortnite Academy. We continue to operate out of two core hubs - at West Norwood Library on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Downham Library/Leisure Centre on Mondays and Fridays.
We've kicked off a new external session every Tuesday at the modern Myatts Field Centre, in collaboration with Fight 4 Change and Pinnacle, supported by Ecosystem Coldharbour.

Separately, we have been on the road! Travelling around London with our high-spec monitors, PS5s, VR headsets, XBOXs, Nintendo Switches and PCs, we support a host of community partners.
We support weekly girls-only sessions with the fantastic ESP Foundation in Harrow Road, which is always such a popular event. By engaging with more girls through this awesome initiative, we are seeking to have a positive impact on the gender imbalance which is all too clear to see in the world of esports. Whilst the gender split between young people who play video games is generally very even, we do not see that same representation on the grander esports stage. By engaging with more girls in grassroots esports, we are hoping to see a long-term impact and change in this way.
We also delivered a bespoke series of sessions throughout February based around positive mental-health and wellbeing through playing video games across youth clubs in Lambeth, partnering with Black Thrive Lambeth to make this happen.
You will be able to find out more information on how these events went down soon... So keep it locked to EYC!
